This freshwater crab is found in Nagano Prefecture at elevations up to 600 meters above sea level. Its bright colors, including those powerful scarlet-red claws, make it distinctive, and it has a line like a smiling mouth on its back. It's fully jointed to make realistic posing possible, perfectly reproducing the crab's natural range of motion. Its eyestalks can also move. It's about 14 cm wide - about twice its actual size - and about 7.3 cm tall.
